CLAN LAW
Etymology: French (spectre), from Latin spectrum appearance, specter, from spectre to look; look at, more at spy. Date: 1605 1. A visible disembodied spirit; Ghost 2. Something that haunts or perturbs the mind; Phantasm Brief history of the SPECTRE military squadron: On 30 October 1968, the 16th SOS “Spectre” was activated at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base (RTAFB), Thailand, and was assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. The unit was first equipped with the AC-130A gunship and later with the more advanced AC-130E/H model gunship. Even before Spectre was a squadron, it was utilized by U.S. Special Forces in the Republic of Vietnam. On 18 August 1968, a Gunship flying an armed reconnaissance mission over III Corp in Vietnam was diverted to support a Special Forces base at Katum. The ground commander quickly assessed the accurate fire support and capabilities of the AC-130 gunship and called for fire support on his own perimeter when the Viet Cong attempted to breech the wire on the west side of his position. So began the close working relationship with Special Forces that Spectre enjoys to this day. Brief history of clan [SPECTRE] I, AKA (LordMaximus), founded clan [SPECTRE] with respect to my cousin, Curt , a former member of the SPECTRE squadron and currently fighting the was against terrorism in the Middle East. Also, with great respect to my late brother, Rick a Lt. Col and Apache Squadron Commander of Delta Force formerly stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and my late brother Joe, who was killed in a motorcycle crash, with great respect for my brother-like-friend, CPT. Cort Schnetzler that roasted in the sands of Iraq for fifteen months conducting convoy security, and with profound respect to all of our veterans and active military personnel. Thank you for protecting our freedom!! Clan [SPECTRE] was founded in October 2002. The clan is a joint venture with my good friends and fellow members of the clan. Our hopes are to continually offer an open to the public playground for all respectable gamers to enjoy and compete in the clan ladders and make [SPECTRE] a part of gaming history. RULES AND REGULATIONS CHAIN OF COMMAND Clan [SPECTRE] uses a U.S. Army rank structure and chain of command. The chain of command will be enforced. The reason for this is that the GOA is a very busy man. Following the chain of command with questions or concerns will take some of the pressure off of the GOA. Ranks are awarded to all members with a lot of things taken into consideration. Participation, teamwork, and time and effort put into the clan duties. Do not beg for a promotion. These requests are ignored and normally end up in a longer waiting period for the next promotion. All members are expected to respect the chain of command at all times. Failure to do so could end up in demotion, suspension, or discharge from the clan. PASSWORDS & ADMIN PRIVILEGES If you are given a password, do not give it out to others. The only way that a member should give out a password is with explicit consent from the CO or XO. Do not ask for server admin rights. The only members with server rights are the administrators. Some members may be given limited rights to perform tasks assigned to them by admin. SENIOR CLAN ADMINISTRATORS: LordMaximus, Prophet, DarthWader, and Crystal Pistal FOLLOWING ORDERS IN MATCHES AND SCRIMS If you cannot follow orders during scrims, matches, and practices, then you are not [SPECTRE] material. Orders should always be followed in scrims and practice nights no matter how stupid you think they are. If you are ordered to blow yourself up and die, then you will blow yourself up and die. Granted, this will probably never happen, but an order is an order. There is a logical reason for this way of thinking so, just do it. There is nothing more frustrating for a Commander than to issue an order and it not get carried out. FORUMS Everyone is a part of the forums. If you are not, you need to be. All members need to remain active in the forums. Information is passed along there and would be missed unless we all stay active in reading the forums. Questions and concerns should be posted in the correct forum. Each member should keep in mind that that off-posting on a topic makes it hard for the original topic to stay active. So, one should not off-post. If you something like a joke, throw it in the general chat forums. We are all guilty of off-posting however; please keep it to a minimum. The Ten Forum Commandments 1. Thou shall not rant on off topics (There are forums for that) 2. Thou should not copy posts to other forums 3. Thou shall not use foul language (Due to different ages and morals among members) 4. Thou shall not argue between members and non-members in a forum (Option: Private Messages) 5. Thou shall not accuse a player, member, or non-member of cheating in any forum 6. Thou shall private message all problems that affect the clan to Prophet or DarthWader (Chain of Command) 7. Thou shall not post nude photos (PM them to Prophet) 8. Thou shall not make any discriminating comments about race, religion, or sexual preferences 9. Thou shall welcome all new members to the site (Remember, you were new at one time too) 10. Thou shall use one’s wit, humor, or flat goofiness when posting or replying to posts (Let’s have fun!!) ROLL CALL We have forums for Roll Call. Members are expected to post in the Roll Call forum. This is not an option and should not be forgotten. Membership requires you to participate in matches. Excused absence from a match is acceptable, but please post so the Admin know. If you are scheduled for a match and cannot make it, please try to get a replacement. Please notify Admin as soon as possible if you are unable to attend. It is very embarrassing and makes the clan look unprofessional when we show up for an event and have several members missing in action. CLAN SKINS (MOHSH only) All members will use the same skins when playing Medal of Honor SH. This makes for quick identification and looks professional. The current skins are Allied: 501st Paratrooper #1 and Axis: Panzer Tank Commander. When using rifles, the Allied team may switch skins to obtain a different rifle. Those skins will be Russian Junior Lieutenant and the UK 6th Airborne Captain. When selecting a machine gun again, don’t forget to switch back to the regular skins. HONOR Clan [SPECTRE] is an honorable clan. We promote fair, fun, mature, and cheat-free game play to make an enjoyable gaming environment in the gaming community. Members wearing the [SPECTRE] tag should remember that they represent the clan as a whole. Do not go on other servers goofing off or bad mouthing others wearing our clan tag. We enforce the No Profanity Rule on our servers and that rule should be carried onto other servers as well. This will not be tolerated in any way. We have many affiliate clan members more than willing to inform [SPECTRE] admin of this type of activity. Anyone caught doing this will be removed from the clan and all allied clans will be notified of your IP address and actions. Do not tarnish this clan’s tag! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CHEATING IN ANY WAY. NO HACKS, SCRIPTS, SPECTATE, OR CONSOLE COMMANDS. If anyone is caught cheating, they will be immediately investigated by the admin. Once verified, the violator will be discharged from the clan immediately. The violator will then be reported to the Cheat Police and all affiliate clans. Hacking is illegal and this kind of activity will be reported to the server host(s) and also to the FBI. Do not accuse others of cheating unless you have hard evidence. Instead, try to spectate them to obtain that evidence. Then it needs to be reported to an admin. The admin will handle it from that point forward. Admin will also post information on known cheats on the website. Do not insult or abuse your fellow clan members. They are to be treated with the same respect that you would expect. Do not let your skill go to your head. If you think that you are better or more skilled than another player, keep it to yourself. Boasting, bragging, and talking down to other members causes bad feelings and starts fights and is just unacceptable. We may all differ in skill of playing, but we all deserve the same respect from our teammates. Remember that we all had to start somewhere. Instead, offer them advice or ways to improve their game play. Complaining in general is frowned upon. Everyone complains about things from time to time, but try to keep in mind that we are all friends and game to have fun. Hearing someone complain about everything will not be tolerated. This is to include, but not limited to whining about: weapons, lag, ping, connection, getting shot, not being able to shoot someone…etc. Clan members are expected to be loyal and respectful to the clan and its members. You will always defend and respect your clan members. If you do not respect your clan mates, then you do not respect the clan and will be asked to resign. AWOL Members who are inactive for longer than four (4) weeks without any formal notice to the admin will be moved to the reserve list. Once a member is moved to the reserve list, he/ she will forfeit their rank. If a reserve member returns and wants to rejoin the clan, they can be reinstated as a recruit. They will have to complete the probation period again and not be afforded any rights as a clan member until completion of the probation. Under certain circumstances, a member will be able to retain their rank when returning. These cases will be reviewed by admin as they occur. A member that remains on the reserve list for an extended period of time may be formally discharged from the clan without notice. CLAN DUES, DONATIONS, & PRIVATE SLOTS Clan [SPECTRE] maintains a yearly membership fee of twenty-five (25) dollars per member (As of 4/1/09 yearly dues are no longer required). The yearly dues will be collected upon your acceptance as a member and then February 1st of every year. This date was selected because it is after the holidays and we didn’t want to put any added financial stress on anyone. Recruits do not pay dues until they become full fledged members of the clan. Once the probation period is completed, the recruit will be expected to start and maintain the yearly dues process. We do not pro-rate the yearly dues. If a recruit becomes a member in July, they pay their dues. They will pay again in February. If this is a problem for a recruit, they should notify as admin before their probation is complete. Donations are a tremendous need to keep the game servers that the entire clan uses operational. Admin pay a monthly membership fee. That doesn’t cover the entire bill for game servers and the website. [SPECTRE] needs donations to remain alive. Please donate when you can. The homepage has a PayPal link to make donations and to pay dues with. This is the easiest way to maintain the finances. If a member cannot use PayPal, we will accept cash, check, or money orders as well. Members may also purchase their own private slot for any game server that we host. This is a monthly fee. Do not use another member’s private slot without their permission. RECRUITS The responsibility of finding recruits lies with every active member of this clan. We have an active recruiting officer, but he is not on every server all of the time. Members play elsewhere also; everyone should be looking for new members. If you find someone that you think should become a member of [SPECTRE] refer them to the website. Have them read the rules and make a post in the recruiting forum. The recruiting officer should take over from there. Recruits will be issued the clan tag to wear by an admin. Anyone found wearing our tag before being issued will be banned from entering the clan. Recruits are expected to wear the clan tag and follow all of the clan rules and regulations. Failure to follow these rules will result in the recruit losing the tag and will not be allowed to join the clan. All recruits will go through a one (1) month probation period. After the probation period, the recruit will be promoted to Private and may start a career in clan [SPECTRE] PROVOST MARSHALL’S OFFICE Violations of the above mentioned rules will be dealt with accordingly. Failure to comply with the rules may result in, but not limited to: suspension, forfeiture of paid dues, reduction in rank, dismissal, and/ or legal action. |
